Three people died in Shaanxi Providence, China, on April 26 after an electric car collided with a truck while traveling at 115 km/h, claiming the lives of two men and a two-year-old child.
The AITO M7 SUV reportedly exploded and burst into flames immediately after the accident, and while drivers of nearby cars tried to break the electric car’s windows in an attempt to rescue the victims, they were unable to in the end.
Later, a woman who identified herself as the sister of the man who owned the electric car in the accident raised suspicions that the car was defective. The woman said that the car involved in the accident was a late model and that her brother had purchased it three months earlier.
She also added that the doors were locked and could not be opened at the time of the accident, and the airbags did not deploy.
The police are investigating the cause of the accident, including vehicle defects, but the manufacturer of AITO has denied the suspicion of defects, saying, “The airbag and power battery operated normally,” while expressing condolences to the victims.
Sounds like it was working as intended killing the retards who bought it.
Chinese or not, I don’t fucking trust a car that is more controlled by the manufacturer than the people driving it.
Cars having so many electronic components and internet connection is fucking cancer
Wait until cars need to be always online and you need to pay monthly subscription fee to continue driving it.
I can see it coming. This business model is cancer.
Not sure if there’s some sort of computers on this vehicle. But after my accident with a car that suddenly stopped on the road and locked my steering wheel. I could never trust most high tech cars. I am happy with old fashioned cars where I get full control.
Can always count on that Chinese quality, to be rock bottom.
Nah, no one can survive a crash at 115km/h, not even in a F150 or BTR80
